Botox / Antiwrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections (such as Botox and Dysport) are used to prevent, soften and reduce, or eliminate facial wrinkles.

The toxin works by relaxing the specific muscles which are responsible for the formation of wrinkles seen with aging.

There is no other treatment, topical or injectable, which can prevent and reverse signs of aging as significantly as Bot*x,

making it the world’s most popular aesthetic treatment.

Common Questions

When should I start getting Botox?

We recommend using Bot*x as a way of preventing wrinkles and signs of aging, this means starting as soon as the first signs of facial lines appear

(often mid-twenties).

Botox is a long-term investment for your skin health and each treatment will significantly improve future skin quality and youthfulness.

Softer lines and wrinkles can often be reversed with anti-wrinkle injections.

If deep lines have already formed, Bot*x will soften their appearance, prevent any line deepening, and with repeat treatments potentially eliminate lines as the muscles responsible for line formation are relaxed.

Common Questions

How often should I get Botox?

Bot*x treatments last from 3-4 months. Duration depends on the dose used, as well as patient-specific factors (exercise, diet, smoking etc).

After your first treatment, you will have an idea of how your body uniquely responds to the treatment.

While some clients prefer to be treated every 3-4 months, others will do well with bi-annual treatments, which will go a long way in preventing the signs of aging.

Common Questions

What is the difference between Bot*x

and dermal fillers?

Bot*x relaxes or paralyzes the muscles responsible for forming and deepening wrinkles. Dermal fillers restore lost volume to deeper structures and the skin.

Dermal fillers can be used to temporarily reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles through a “filling” effect.

Can Botox only be used to treat wrinkles?

Botox can be used to treat a number of other

concerns besides aging and wrinkles:

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating,

commonly in the underarms, hands or feet.

Tension headaches and migraines.
Bruxism or jaw clenching. This treatment, which involves injections to the masseter muscles of the jaw, also slims the face and enhances the jawline.
