The Ultimate Pre-wedding Aesthetic Treatment Plan
As our masks are lowered and the sanitiser fumes clear, we are so excited to see the wedding invitations are rolling in!
Being a bride is something many of us have dreamt about since we were little girls. Throwing on towel veils and walking down a make-shift aisle, we all hope to be our most radiant selves on the big day! Between choosing our venue, settling on a guest list that makes everybody happy and a caterer willing to take on all of our dietary requirements, there is one thing that should be left to the professionals.
A bride-to-be’s aesthetic treatment plan is an area of wedding day prep that should be fun and relaxing, but well planned. It’s also one of the few areas that is a long term investment - although we want you to look your best for The Big Day, most treatments last long beyond that one day. We advise that you book a consultation at least 6 months before your wedding, to devise a treatment plan based on the results you want to achieve, and tailored to your budget. Below are a few of our most popular bride-to-be treatments, and what you can expect from them:
Chemical peels
Chemical peels jumpstart your skin’s exfoliation process, encouraging faster cell turnover for fresh, blemish-free, smooth, glowing skin. The peel ingredient is chosen to target specific skin concerns.
Start a series of peels at least 6 months before your wedding day, to allow for depth and peel type to advance according to your skin’s tolerance.
Botox
Botulinum toxin is the best available treatment for prevention and cure of lines and wrinkles. Besides improving the appearance of frown, forehead and eye lines, Botox also acts on sebaceous glands and improves the overall appearance and texture of the skin - hello radiant smooth forehead!
Botox takes 10-14 days to “settle” and lasts 3-4 months. Ideally a trial run 6 months prior to the big day will allow you to feel confident in treatment results for the wedding day.
Needling Treatments
Needling treatments promote cell turnover and long term collagen induction. Various forms of needling can be chosen depending on your skin concerns and budget - stamping, Aquagold and microneedling. Different serums and growth factors are delivered through the micro channels to improve skin quality and texture.
Needling treatments deliver best results when a series of treatments are done 4 weeks apart. Book your first treatment from 6 months prior to your wedding day.
Profhilo
Bio-remodelling injectable hyaluronic acid treatment which improves skin elasticity, firmness and fine lines. Not only is it an anti-aging and collagen inducing treatment, it also gives face, neck, décolletage and hands an incredible, youthful glow!
Two treatments are required one month apart. Start with your first session 2-3 months before the big day.
IPL
Intense pulsed light treatments are able to target pigmentation, acne scarring, dull skin and more. Laser treatments are another wonderful way to achieve radiant, glowing skin.
A series of treatments may be required and the timing of the first treatment should be discussed with your therapist or doctor.
For the brides looking to treat specific “structural” concerns, dermal filler is the treatment of choice. Fillers can add youthfulness and enhance your natural features by treating areas that have lost volume with age - cheeks, lips, under eye areas etc.
Dermal fillers take about two weeks to settle. Book your treatment at least a month before the big day.
I have never seen a bride who does not look gorgeous - what is more beautiful than a happy girl in love? But some professional guidance can go a long way in helping you to feel confident and radiant as you step onto the aisle.
